Many people areas of the UK have been struggling to cope with temperatures as high as 10ºC following a month of cold weather in December.
Yorkshire and Durham have been the worst affected areas, with some people having to take their wooly jumpers off.
Coleen Dwight of Barnsley felt the worst of the extreme conditions - "I was so hot in my front room, I had to switch the gas heater down to medium."
Many businesses are struggling in the heat as well; The George pub in Scarborough has had to take special precautions, stocking ice to cool customers drinks. Manager David Twain said the pub had even been forced to put peas, stored to be cooked in meals for customers at a later date, in the pubs freezer to prevent them becoming unusable.
The Met Office has calmed fears of this heat continuing, by predicting temperatures much more comfortably close to freezing by the end of January.
