Council chiefs who renamed gingerbread men 'gingerbread persons' on primary school menus have been forced to climb down by complaining parents and neighbouring authorities.
Lancashire County Council made the change over concerns for political correctness and sexual equality.
Said mother-of-two Lynette Burnley: "Ee, it werre rright daft werren't it? If you ask me all the PC stuff has gone too farr when it affects kids' novelty biscuits."
The parents' protests were backed by officials from authorities in neighbouring Yorkshire.
"Bloody daft 'apeths them Lancy buggers," said a spokesman for Calderdale District Council's Education Department. "Everyone knows it's not gingerbread - it's parkin!"
