In an amazing new twist today it has been revealed that the cat who was dyed pink and thrown over a garden wall actually chased a mouse into a loaf of bread in the Hovis factory.
A man has come forward stating that he dialled 999 after spotting the pink cat acting suspiciously in his kitchen, but was politely told by the operator to shoo him out. The man fears that shoo-ing out the recently dyed cat might have angered him, causing him to go on the rampage with several local mice.
Eye-witnesses report an altercation later that night between a mouse and "pink looking cat" in which the mouse had his tail bitten off and was pursued across Bicester by the angry feline.
The mouse was later found dead inside a loaf of bread by an unsuspecting family man trying to do nothing more than feed his family sandwiches.
He commented," At first I thought something had been dyed in there, then I realised something had died in there."
Traces of pink dye on the deceased mouse have been traced to a nearby wheelie bin where it is believed the pink cat was stored for several hours before its release.
Meanwhile, a recently launched range of sliced sandwich bread with the meat already in has bombed.
