David/Ed Miliband has won a mandate from the Labour Party and prepares to lead the party in opposition.
Ed / David said the win was "a great honour/surprise" and assured voters that party will not "lurch to the left/right" under his leadership and rejected claims he will be unduly influenced by the unions/parents.
"I'm my own man," Ed/Dave told BBC One's Andrew Marr show.
He said he was on the centre ground of politics and rejected the nickname "Red Ed/Crazy Dave" as "rubbish/shite".
His brother David/ Ed, who he beat to the job, avoided questions about his future saying he did not want to "take anything away" from the new leader/little shit.
"I want to thank Mum and Dad, and of course my brother", said Mr Miliband "today is a great day for my comrades / colleagues and look forward to future policies of tax breaks / general strikes"
Ed / David's Parents were not available for comment, but are reported to be mortified at bringing them into the world.
