Wanna Buy A Stone?

The British Murder Council (BMC) has finally committed itself to across the board condemnation of ritual stoning as a method of capital punishment.

Ritual stoning - long a favoured method of despatching unfaithful wives in sink-hole, arse-backwards nations such as Iran - involves the accused being buried up to the neck in sand, hooded, and subsequently having rocks propelled at the head until such point as life becomes extinct.

Which sounds almost surreal to Western ears - like some kind of Monty Python punishment for the vaguest perceived slight.

Not quite so surreally and fantastically funny if you happen to find yourself buried up to the neck in sand, hooded, and unable to defend yourself as hypocrites launch a volley of sizeable rocks at your head. Which could prove problematic.

Especially when you suspect that he's probably been shagging your younger sister for the past ten years, while all you did was smile and be pleasant to the guy on the market stall who sold fruit and veg. Even though you were wearing a burkha.

As the rocks bonce repeatedly off your hooded face and head.

Until you die. Which could be a while.

Sharia law folks!
