Vuvuzela, after an assault

At several Premier League clubs the vuvuzela, beloved to South Africans, is to be banned.

An angry reaction came from one Arsenal fan, where the instrument has been banned. 'It is a breach of my human rights. This will take Arsenal to Europe for a final decision.'

Others have questioned whether the vuvuzela should be described as a musical instrument. To some it is the equivalent of an old fashioned rattle and should not be subject to the ban on it as a musical instrument.

However a young mother has pointed out that rattles are fun but her little one would become deaf if he heard a vuvuzela chorus.

Protests outside grounds where the instrument is denied access are predicted and the wail of disappointed buzzers could aggravate feelings inside and outside stadia. Police forces are concerned about ugly incidents with the vuvuzelas being used as weapons.

So the new season is bound to be a controversial one. It is hoped that those disappointed by the ban on the vuvuzela will wait for next year's Promenade Concerts when an adaptation of Mozart's Flute concerto is being planned for the instrument.

The funny story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
