Howard Webb's Yellow Apple & Red Pear

I reported Mystic Meg's prediction that the World Cup final between Spain and the Netherlands would end in disaster. So many red cards were predicted, the game would be abandoned for lack of players.

The fact that referee Howard Webb, is colour blind was not appreciated by Meg. It was clear to everyone that at least 12 red cards should have been shown. It is obvious Howard Webb saw Red when he waved the Yellow card.

On discovering this FIFA have decided Spain can keep the World Cup because The Dutch were the worst offenders. But they have issued a statement apologising to Mystic Meg. They agree that her prediction was basically correct and have thanked her for showing them that Howard Webb has optical problems.

Meg, now called Mystaken Meg by rival clairvoyants, jealous of her occult powers, has taken the whole matter in her stride. 'My reputation has not been harmed' she told us 'it has been enhanced. Anyone could see that the referee was colour blind, even FIFA, so my prediction was essentially correct.'

Meg, who learnt her love of football with a crystal ball when a youngster has long been a follower of the game. Several Premier League clubs in England are after her talents following her staggering predictive powers shown in the World Cup final.

Crystal Palace are known to have offered her millions for her guidance.

The funny story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
