Well, Paul the psychic octopus did indeed come through. Spain won the World Cup just as Paul predicted.
I don't think we have ever seen such a 'dirty' final. An amazing amount of yellow cards, uncountable free kicks and a sending off. Why did they bother even playing when Paul, in true Paul style, predicted that Spain would win?
After years of underachievement Spain came through in Soccer City. The Spanish team are rightfully crowned the best team on the planet.

Now we wonder, what is to become of Paul? It's predicted by human psychics the world over, that Paul will become a celebrity. He will be invited to appear on chat shows worldwide, such as Oprah, Late Night with Letterman, Trish and many others, Jeremy Kyle, and others too numerous to mention by name.
Paul is already booked to appear on 'Dancing With The Stars', although the particular episode Paul is to appear in is to have only non-human participants. Paul will be dancing with two starfish, each missing a leg. Dancing With the Stars judges have decided that this is a fair entry.
Paul has also been invited to accompany Susan Boyle on all concert tours. Susan is reported to have said,
"Och A will be delighted to have Paul travelling with me. He has such talent which has only just been recognized. A know wo' tha' feels like an' A intend to give Paul all the support A can.
"A do wish he could sing as I am holding a wee competition for one of ma fans to sing 'Silent Night" wi' me. A do s'pose A could include Paul. Put the wee fishy on stage when A sing, and have him swimming in the background. This would surely please his fans."
There is, indeed, much for Paul to look forward to in his future.
