"Sorry, we're busy spending your money"

Leaked information from management consultants has revealed BBC staff see themselves as the cast of Cranford whereas they regard viewers as the cast of EastEnders.

Director General Mark Thompson admitted there was a huge gulf between the values they purported to hold and the reality of enormous vanity within the BBC.

"We've always pretended to value 'equality' and 'equal opportunities' but the reality couldn't be further from the truth" he lamented. "For example, everyone in my office today is white, slim, middle class and from Chiswick. Need I say more?"

These revelations come at a bad time for the BBC who's PR operation is in disarray. Taxpayers in the midst of a long recession are seething that BBC 'equality wardens' have just received pay increases to £325,000 when the private sector pays just £11,500 - and falling.

The BBC press office did not help matters simply stating "Mind your own business."

Not for the first time, the public is wondering exactly why their hard earned tax should be sloosed into such a smug and lazy organisation. John Prescot complained - "I'd rather die than watch Dr Who again."

The funny story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
