'Dave' Cameron, the cool leader of the once-hated UK Conservative party, today held up the leading satirical website The Spoof as a glowing example of how self-regulation can work for good in tomorrow's Britain today.
In a speech to leading media industry specialists and analysts, he said that The Spoof proved that when people are allowed to work for the good of the country, they tend to do it without the need for the shackles and chains of bureaucratic regulation holding them back. They'll even work for free.
Citing the recent spoof Ricky Martin headlines as good examples of how self-regulation ensures spoof diversity, Cameron listed his favourite spoof headlines:
Mindy McCready Sex Video Made Ricky Martin Straight Again
One More Ricky Martin Spoof Is Never Too Many
Aren't There Too Many People Claiming to Be Gay - Ricky Martin?
Ricky Hatton Says It's Me Next
Leave It Out Ricky You're Not on Eastenders You Can't Be Gay
Gay Is Overused and Overrated- Ricky Martin
Get Over It Some People Are Gay and Called Ricky
I'm Bored With Ricky Martin's Ass - Cameron
The speech received warm applause and afterwards Cameron was pelted with rubber chickens and asked to shave his eyebrows. You can take the man from Eton but you can't take Eton from the man.
