It's true, the Subo cult members continue to suffer behind bars. The latest punishment was bestowed upon them like a bleeding blessing.
A huge screen was erected in front of their cell and on it -what else - something religious is being screened as I type.
The warden, being a bit of a comedian himself, ordered re-runs of "Father Ted" to be played. At first, the women refused to watch such torrid muck, but eventually gave in, believing it to be God's punishment to them for dishing out blessings willy nilly. After all, he does know what he's doing. (Or so they continue to believe!!!!!)
'Dougal' is in awe of these women. He's having a hard time with the God stuff but his heart goes out to these pitiful women. He empathizes with them. Well he 'would' if he knew what the word meant.
He's knitting a red scarf and plans to visit the women in jail as soon as it is finished. Ted thinks he's a 'tosser', well he would, but he's not 'with us anymore' sad to say. Dougal says the women are misunderstood, as is he, himself and Our Hero.
He joined the priesthood because he liked the uniform but got a bit sad when he was sent to Craggy Island and DIDN'T get to wear those long black dresses.
He admits he sneaks into Mrs. What's-er-name's room, when she's out, and wears her clothes, even the pinnies an' everything. God he's stupid. Feck, who ordained HIM?
