Remember the 1964 Monte Carlo Rally and the winner Padraig Hopkirk in a Mini Cooper S? Well the 77 year old Paddy is still at it.
Last night, just after midnight, Police finally stopped Hopkirk on Park Lane where he was clocked at 80 MPH in his newly refurbished 1964 Mini.
The police had clocked Hopkirk approaching London on the M1 at 110 MPH.
Paddy was taken to Scotland Yard where he had a visit with police CID racing fans and then given a ride home in a police armored Swat vehicle.
No traffic violation was issued.
Questioned later by BBC News Paddy said he was late for a Doctors Appointment and wondered why he was stopped now since he drives like that all the time.
