Top military brass were last night rushing to defend the decision to close down 5 training bases and replace them with X-Boxes and the lastest version of "Call Of Duty".
A spokesman dismissed claims this was further evidence of budget reductions in the military. "Utter nonsense, the SAS have been using various Tom Clancy games since they first came out on the Playstation 2 with no negative impact on their operational ability"
A recent recruit, who didn't want to be named to protect identity, was less encouraging. "Dodging roadside bombs in Kandahar is nothing like reaching Level 5 on COD4," he said whilst polishing his boots, "I mean - where can you find Dorittos in Afghanistan?"
