When the mother of local boy Jimmy Rodgers awoke her darling son this morning for school she was in for a big surprise - little Jimmy had become a man.
"I had just prepared his Coco Pops and orange juice and came up the stairs to make sure he was up and ready, but when I entered the room and pulled back the sheets I got the biggest shock I've had since that time he pissed all over the bed", said a stunned Mrs. Rodgers.
The lad was no longer a mere boy but instead had become a strapping young man, with bulging pectorals, rippling muscles and a chiseled jaw that could cut stale bread.
He opened his eyes and greeted his mother in a bass baritone voice that almost shook the house.
"It scared the shite out of me. He's only 12. Kids grow up so quickly these days. Where do all the years go?", she added.
Mrs. Rogers thinks that it may be related to her choice of food.
"Yesterday, for a treat, I took my Jimmy to McDonalds for his dinner. I must have made a mistake at the counter because instead of a Happy Meal, my Jimmy got a full-sized burger and chips instead. It's obviously affected him greatly".
"He no longer plays football or hopscotch anymore. Instead he just lays on the sofa all day and drinks beer and burps".
At least Mrs. Rogers has been spared all those 'awkward' teenage years.
