Police in Glasgow have to be issued with tasers a gun which delivers a 50000 volt shock to disable criminals who resist arrest. It is now emerging however that due to a typing error a memo was issued saying that police would be issued with lasers.
If police had been issued with lasers instead of tasers criminals resisting arrest could have been vaporised instead of just being totally shocked.
Strathclyde police have now confirmed that the error was made but it was discovered before an order was put in for lasers instead of tasers.
When we spoke to members of the public however there were some mixed views some people thought that it would be a good idea to vaporise some violent criminals if it meant saving an innocent victim from being murdered.
