A Spoof writer's day was saved today in the nick of time, when two chaps from Comet eventually showed up to install a 50" plasma screen TV.
Phil and Dan showed up just as Spoofer Skoob1999 was giving up the ghost and abandoning all hope of having a big "fuck off" plasma screen TV for Christmas and drinking more beer than is good for the silly old bastard.
But then chirpy chappies Phil and Dan showed up, and a damned fine job they did too.
Skoob explained:
"Their fucking drill conked out innit. So we had to let 'em use one of the 67 drills the Mrs bought off E-Bay. I am now the proud owner of a big 50" plasma screen telly which just shows the same old shite, but bigger, and in High Definition. I asked Phil if it would make Manchester United any better in defence, given the current injury list. Phil said he couldn't guarantee that, but he did promise that the goals we concede will be bigger and better in future."
Dan told us:
"I like working on the front line for Comet. You don't half meet some fucking nutters out there."
Phil added:
"At least that Spoofy fool slipped us a bung for a Christmas drink. Which is more than most of the tight bastards round here do. Was he a Northerner? He did talk a bit funny, like..."
