Copenhagen, Denmark. British PM Gordon Brown has arrived in the Danish capital today to attend the concluding sessions of UN Conference on Climate Change.
Unfortunately, he immediately began embarassing himself and his fellow staff with "off the cuff" comments that appeared confused and ill advised. Upon arrival, he stated to the gathered throng of international journos that "it was good to be in Amsterdam" and that "he couldn't wait to participate in the G20 conference" (the G20 will be held in March 2010). When asked if he felt an agreement on climate change was possible, Mr Brown replied "you know, climate change is what you get when you don't wear anything under your kilt".
Mr Brown was then taken aside by his advisers and briefed quickly on where he was and how he should be responding to press queries.
The British Prime Minister is expected to make a public address to the Conference tomorrow when he gets his head together.
