HMP Wormwood Scrubs - (Fishy Tales): Jailed canoe accident faker John Darwin has told inmates the highjacking by Somali pirates of Tunbridge Wells couple Paul and Rachel Chandler "is probably a fake".
"Hahaha," Darwin chuckled, "maybe that's where I went wrong! Should have blamed those pesky Somalis and cleaned up big time."
Darwin, 69, famously did a runner in his little paddle boat so his wife could claim on a life insurance policy.
The couple were both jailed last year for the £250,000 insurance con.
Meanwhile the Chandlers' worried neighbors have rallied round and are holding a Halloween bring and buy sale this weekend to raise the estimated one million pounds ransom money.
