Liverpool - (Grateful Dead See Trolls): "Of course it's a spoof," chief librarian Dr Wille Dustjacket said today, "we reckon someone must have planted it for a bit of a laugh, right?"

The Liverpool Central Library archivist says the 1953 essay by Beatle Paul McCartney looks about as genuine as the 1948 Nag Hammadi Scrolls find "and was probably forged at about the same time, according to the carbon dating report."

Although it does not mention any two thousand year old latrines - as in the Nag Hammadi find - the composition bears all the hallmarks of hoaxer humbuggery.

"Someone is taking the mickey," a British Library specialist in cold war disinformation commented.

"That Liverpool Library scrapbook was always a bit of a dead letter drop."

Cherie Blair was born in Liverpool's equivalent of The Gorbals.

The funny story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
