Liverpool footballer Steven Gerrard is in further trouble with the Merseyside Police today, following an attack which he instigated over Facebook.
It appears that the victim "poked" the footballer over the social networking site, and in response he and a number of friends attacked the individual, issuing a significant "kicking".
It appears that the footballer, misread the action and thought that he was about to be attacked himself.
His legal representative was quick to point out that they felt this was very much a case of self defence.
