Argentinian striker Carlos Tevez today turned down a lucrative five year contract with Manchester United after the club had agreed to meet his owner's financial demands, preferring instead a deal to move to Manchester City!
Outraged United fans could be seen groaning and clutching their heads this morning on Chester Road and on the Old Trafford forecourt on Sir Matt Busby Way.
"I'm spitting bloody feathers here," one who was literally spitting feathers told us. (We still can't work out how he did it but it was pretty impressive all the same.) "We've spent months telling Fergie to sign him up, the club come up with the money and then he turns us down. FOR CITY!"
Kia Joorabchian, Tevez's owner declined to comment.
City fan and one time comedian, Eddie Large told us:
"How sweet's that? It'll be Rooney and Vidic next..."
More Mancunian related melancholia as we get it.
