Witch Hazel ensnared by Laureate Doofy's Limericky Lariat

Carol Ann Doofy the first feminine Poet Laureate of the British Empire since Alfie Tennyson has shocked literati across the empire by issuing a limerick as her first poetic utterance.

Doofy told a certain spoof site that she thought that British poetry had become such a joke that she might has well join the circus with some comic verses of her own.

The new Poet laureate explained that the financial crisis seemed to provide good grist for her poetic pepper mill and that the MP scandals were ripe for the spoofing.

The following limerick is Doofy's first official composition as PL:

There once was Secretary Hazel, the witch

She cheated taxpayers, the greedy bitch

Charging the publick for houses galore

She lived high on the hog

Till everyone called her a whore!

The funny story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
