Following his release from police custody last night, Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard found himself in more hot water as he found himself going up the disciplinary route at work.
A disciplinary hearing was held this morning at Anfield, chaired by manager Raaffia Basket-Benitez.
It has yet to be confirmed but inside information suggests that Gerrard, 28, was issued with a final written warning which will remain on his employee file for the next twelve months.
'Effectively it means that if he drops one more bollock in the given time frame then he's out on his arse,' said a club insider. 'And a good thing too if you ask me. This club has an impeccable reputation and we won't stand for some jumped up ginger nut sullying its good name.'
Somewhat paradoxically, a spokesperson for Liverpool Football Club declared that the club would offer Gerrard 'total support'
