In an astonishing and coincidental revelation today, it has been revealed that Pres. elect, Barack Obama has Welsh roots.
The BBC revealed today that an upcoming episode of "Who do you think you are" featuring Shirley Bassey, has uncovered that Bassey's father was a Great Grandfather of Obama's.
Dame Shirley Bassey, well known singer, famous for songs "Diamonds are forever", and "Hey big spender" was of course the result of a liason between a Kenyan seafarer and a Welsh shopgirl in the notorious "Tiger Bay" area of Cardiff docklands. After Bassey's birth the seafarer returned to Kenya, where he had a son, who was to become Barack's father.
Bassey was surprised but delighted at the link. It is understood that The PM's office have already been in touch with a view to Bassey performing at a possible British visit by the president elect.
