Leading cable news channel DNN projects that Barack Obama has won Pennsylvania. With nearly one percent of the vote counted, Obama has a 170 vote lead out of the 60,000 votes so far.

"Using sophisticated statistical analysis, we can confidently project that Obama will win the final vote in Pennsylvania," said DNN analyst Dolf Glitzer. The media has a history of accurately projecting winners, Glitzer explained: "Sure we got that Dewey-Truman thing wrong, and sure we picked Kerry four years ago, but we've learned from those mistakes."

Critics complained that the media taints voting in western states by making projections of results from eastern states before the results are final. Glitzer dismissed the critics, noting that the media has been predicting Obama would win for a few months already, so the election night projections should "really have little impact."

The funny story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
