image for "Free Peter Mandel-a-son" song rockets to No 1 in charts
A singer about to sing "Free Peter Mandela, Son"

The song which was responsible for the return of Peter Mandelson - "Free Peter Mandela Son" by Jerry Dammers and his Coventry-based group the 'Special AKA' - has shot to number one on both sides of a local record store in Hull.

Originally titled "Free Nelson Mandela", Jerry Dammers adapted it to focus the world's attention on Peter Mandelason, who has been quietly rotting away, at vast public expense, in the European Commission, which is a special jail in Brussels for disgraced former government ministers.

Not only has the record store sold out of the record, but the signs are that it could also be the most downloaded song of the hour from the popular consumer rip-off site iTuneless.

A national tour is being organised in celebration of Mr Mandelason's triumphant return to the British Tax Payers responsibility, and he is expected to be on the road from tomorrow, shaking hands with people he has absolutely no interest in, kissing snotty babies and telling pensioners how unfortunate it is that thanks to his government, their pensions are worth bugger all.

Although he might not necessarily use the word bugger.

The story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
