Plymouth, UK - At the first annual writer's awards held at the Rose and Fig Pub in Plymouth, writers from around the world were treated to a special surprise as one writer won both categories. The Special Creativity in Mirth Award and Writer of the Year Award.

Balloting began on Tuesday with registered Spoof writers adding their votes to a seemingly growing pile, Votes were tallied and the winner's name was given to Mark Lowton, janitor and mail clerk at the Spoof International Headquarters.

The announcement was made before a packed house as the drama increased moments before the opening of the envelope.

"We are pleased to announce a DOUBLE WINNER! Let me congratulate Doctor Edward Maxwell as our double recipient!
