High Priest Caiaphus Smithsonson, Mayor of Sipson, England has decided to sell the village to the neighboring Heathrow Airport to allow for a new giant runway. Mayor C. Smithsonson explained that it was better for one village to give its life for an airport than for the airport to have to do without.
Villagers of Sipson have been up in arms over the loss of their main street. Pie Maker, Ronnie Crispcrust, said that he cannot imagine Sipson with 757's taxiing down Main street right outside his bakery. Candle-Creator, Waxie Wainwright says that he'll lay his body down to stop the bulldozers from flattening his shoppe to make room for the runway.
Not all villagers are opposed to the runway. Madame Geeta Gudlay said that she would welcome the destruction of the old town as long as the planes were stuck long enough on the runway to allow passengers to disembark for some moments of pleasure at her Emporium of earthly delights. Mayor C. Smithsonson agreed as long as a sin tax could be put in place to aid town politicians' pensions.
