Concern is growing over the fate of a British backpacker, Mr. Rupert Spliff-Toker, convicted in a Sharia court in Teheran of possessing cannabis.
The Grand Mufti of Canterbury and the Government Minister Sad Dick Khan have declined to approach President Armoured-Dinnerjacket of Iran to seek clemency for Mr. Spliff-Toker.
"There is nothing we can do, the law must take its course," said Mullah Rice speaking for the Grand Mufti at Lambeth Madrassa. "It is the will of God. Sharia law is quite specific in this matter - anyone smoking cannabis in an Islamic country will get stoned."
