David Beckham's ego had to be given life saving resuscitation after the legendary fashion icon heard that the "Golden Globes" were cancelled. Beckham, also known as "Golden Balls" had recently learned the word globe in his English lessons which he is taking to help him fit in amongst the intelligentsia of Los Angeles.
Victoria Beckham has not left her husband's side since the ego was admitted for treatment. "It has been a very scary incident for all of us close to David's ego."
Fortunately PR medics were close at hand to explain to David that "Golden Balls" was not about to be cancelled and that he could continue as a vacuous brand for the foreseeable future.
This is not the first time that David's ego has suffered as a result of misunderstanding. When the Bond film "Golden Eye" was released, Beckham had to check with his advisers that it was not a film about his backside.
