Well known children's entertainer Robert 'Bob' The Builder was today arrested following a report on "Rogue Traders", the popular TV consumer programme.

Mr.Builder stands accused of fraudulent accounting and obtaining money by deception after he was captured on film taking a $10,000 'materials deposit' from 96 year old, blind, deaf and paraplegic great grandmother, Mrs.Gladys Minefield of Worthing.

Police were alerted when a neighbour discovered that the work due to be done was the construction of a dog kennel for Mrs. Minefield's pet gerbil, Eric, her companion of some three months or more and that Mr.Builder had given her a receipt for two quid ostensibly signed by Donald Duck.

When arrested at the pub, Mr.Builder was heard to claim that the money was a reasonable deposit due to the cost of 6mm OSB, Plywood and nails having increased dramatically because of deforestation and the increase in the consumption of nails by China.

Police say he had a notebook in his possession which showed an entry for receipt of two quid and a copy of the entry was later found attached to his tax return as partial evidence he'd earned only 4000 pounds in the last year.

Mr.Builder, who is due in court Monday, said "I don't think we can fix this...".

The funny story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
