LONDON (Grouters) - Saatchi & Saatchi, whose "Labour Isn't Working" slogans and the Falklands War ensured Margaret Thatcher trounced Old Labour in three successive humiliating landslide election victories, will handle New Labour's advertising campaign.
A statement by Labour's chief election brainbox, Alex Poodle, ran on the party's web site under a photograph showing Prime Minister Gordon Brown with the banner, "Not gay, just Gordon".
The slogan stresses the real difference between the Blair years and the Brown years. It conjures up heart-warming images of ruddy faced Scottish lairds dancing the Gay Gordons in their baronial castles.
Brown, due to his carefully orchestrated meeting with the great Lady Thatcher herself, holds a huge opinion poll lead of 105 points. However, sources close to the PM say now is probably not the right time for an election. Although polls indicate that Labour might win, people will only vote for the party the opinion polls tell them will win, and nobody likes a loser.
