In a modern-day version of Dickens' The Prince and The Pauper, The Prince of Wales and his Duchess of Cornwall disguised themselves as commoners and went about Philadelphia, a city in one of the original Thirteen Colonies.
The royal couple incognito could not believe that they went unrecognized. "No one said a word ,in fact, those Yanks treated us like the scum they must usually encounter on a daily basis!", exclaimed the Prince.
The Duchess said she could not help but concur: "Don't they know royalty when they see it!? Even if it's sloppy seconds...I bet if it was that Diana they'd of been fawning like spaniels.I'm a direct descendant of Lear's daughter Goneril and if these illiterates had only been able to read the play they'd know they had better watch their arses!"
