The Liberal Democrat party, possibly one of the greenest parliamentary parties in the UK as they roll up in a single Vauxhall Zafira (Diesel) people carrier to all events, have been mocked and pilloried for their outrageous spend on leaflets to UK households stating their case for remaining in the EU.
Party leader, whats-his-name, er thingamagig, er, oh, Mr Farron, that's his name, defended the party for their delivery of leaflets to Acacia Drive in Penge earlier this morning.
When quizzed by Daily Mirror political correspondent, Phil Space, under a Freedom of Information request, it was revealed that the LibDems had spent over £9 (£9.47) on delivering leaflets to Acacia Drive. Mr Farron did defend the Liberal Democrat Party by stating that they had saved a considerable amount by delivering their leaflets by hand, rather than by Royal Mail.
Mr Farron said that it was important that as many people as possible in Acacia Drive were made aware of the LibDems views on the UK's EU membership.
