LONDON, U.K.--Charles, Prince of Wales and heir to the British throne, left a number of newspaper articles about the sudden resignation of Pope Benedict XVI outside the bedchamber of his mother Queen Elizabeth II, sources inside Buckingham Palace reported today.
"Mum does love keeping up with the latest trends and styles. I'm sure she'll find this one interesting," the longest-tenured heir apparent in British history was overheard saying as he carefully laid the stack of headlines outside his mother's door. "I think I'll forward her some electronic versions too, in case she misses these. It's highly important for the monarch to be up-to-date."
The Queen could not be reached for comment, as she was busy overseeing plans for the upcoming national celebration after she surpasses Victoria as the longest-reigning monarch in British history.
