In a slip up which could see heads rolling at Spoof HQ the Obituary of Prince Philip has been published.
A person thought to be close to Spoof's Higher Circles explained that the mistake was really due to a misreading of a statement from the Prince's Hospital. It read 'HRH is now passing water' but a typo had left out the final word water, thus it was concluded that Philip had gone to his final resting place.
After the Obituary had been published in a black shrouded Spoof Special Edition there was a call from the Palace. A distraugt night editor at Spoof, lying in his bed, explained that he was sorry someone had jumped the gun and everyone was very upset.
The fact that the Obituary was full of praise for the Duke meant the higher echelons ruling the Spoof business empire could be let off with a warning. However a full Parliamentary Hearing is possible.
I offered to write this explanatory press release and everyone hopes this will placate the justifiable outrage.
