Local farmer Arthur Choke, better known as Artie, caused a stir at the annual Edinburgh vegetable show yesterday.

Farmer Choke, famed for his prize giant cucumbers, withdrew his competition entry, drawing speculation from other competitors.

When asked by local reporter Trevor Weasel, of the 'Daily Pilchard' why he had withdrawn, he tearfully explained. "Last week I caught my wife in bed with one of my cucumbers. I have tried to overcome the shock in the last few days but I am unable to look my cucumbers in the eye."

He went on to say, "Hopefully I shall return next year. I have been cultivating some fine marrows in the last couple of years and with a bit of luck I should have one suitable to enter into next years competition. Thankfully, there is no way my wife can ruin that."

The funny story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
