A school teacher came forward today to claim that Diane Abbott made a controversial remark when he was her school teacher.

Alf Starling, now a retired headmaster, used to teach Diane Abbott when she was a child growing up in Worthing. But her school days were not without controversy.

"One day she just made a controversial statement during a maths lesson saying that and I all the other teachers liked to divide the class into the clever kids and idiots. It was completely untrue. Later that afternoon she said that she hated using the ruler and preferred a tape measure. I called her to my study for an explanation and she claimed the quotes were taken out of context, before running away to take a phone call. It was madness - mobile phones weren't even around when she was young."

A spokesperson for Ms Abbott refused to confirm or deny the claims.

The funny story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
