Reports are coming in of an alleged punch up between the Duke of Edinburgh and the landlord of an East End pub earlier today. Palace officials refused to comment on the incident which happened in the bar of the "Fox and Gynaecologist" in the Bethnal Green area.
An eyewitness reports that the Duke, who was visiting the pub with his entourage, began arguing with the landlord Alfie Trufitt over comments made by the Duke that the beer was "watered".
The duke, known for his quick temper, is also alleged to have given the landlord a "right hander".
As the Duke was escorted out by his security team, he is further alleged to have threatened to put the landlord "on his arse"...
A visit to Buckingham Palace later in the day by ex deputy prime minister John Prescott fits in with accusations that the Duke is practising on his left jab..
