Businesses in a Surrey High Street are planning to make a worldwide best-selling book the centre of their Olympic celebrations next year.
Dorking expects to welcome thousands of cycling fans from around the world when the London 2012 cycle road race passes along its High Street, up Box Hill and into Leatherhead.
"Visitors are going to want a souvenir of the occasion - not just of the Olympics, but of the place where the book is set," said Chamber of Commerce chair Norbert Fandango. "What better than a copy of The Dorking Review signed by locals?"
To meet the expected demand the Chamber has ordered thousands of copies of the book, which was an immediate hit when it was published in September.
But locals also plan to make a real gala event of the Olympians' brief visit.
Said Mr Fandango: "We are talking to the local amateur theatrical societies about plans to have them act out scenarios from the book to entertain the cycling fans while they're here.
"And we are hoping to persuade YouTube sensation Martin Shuttlecock to help out with the performances. That would be very exciting.
"The Olympics and The Dorking Review will certainly put us on the map!"
