The winner of the 2.30 at Sandown Park went celebrating after his victory, upending his jockey and galloping off towards the River Thames for a much needed drink.
He was found by a pensioner wandering near the river who contacted the Police: 'There's a horse in the Thames in Sunbury' he said 'I think he's waiting for the lock gates to open so he can swim to Kingston, stopping off at Hampton court to visit the Palace.'
The Police thought they had a delusional weirdo on the line and ignored the call. Then the lock keeper at Sunbury rang to say there was a horse waiting to go through the lock on his way to Kingston.
Police cars sped to the scene and scared the animal with their sirens.
The horse 'Sexy Dream' was very wet when he was taken from the river but recovered after a good rubdown from his trainer who had been looking for the horse all over the place.
