After Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti was reported to have been sacked from his job in late December in a story on satirical news website TheSpoof.com, today came further news on the story in that, truth has superceded fiction, and the under-pressure Italian HAS INDEED BEEN SACKED!
Ancelotti was the subject of a witty, but nonetheless untrue, story on the Spoof by habitual time-waster Moys Kenwood on 28 December, but an even more gruesome run of performances since then has left Chelsea in fifth place in the Premier League, 12 points behind leaders Manchester United, and on Saturday, they were dumped out of the FA Cup by Everton.
The Blues only chance of silverware this season lies in an unlikely Champions League win - yeah, right!
This terrible run has proved too much for many of the Stamford Bridge faithful, and also for owner Roman Abramovich who called Ancelotti to his office this morning to deliver the bad news.
Kenwood, who provided the original spoof story of Ancelotti's dismissal, said:
"I told you so."
