Arsenal squad player Nicklas Bendtner has stated his dismay at not been nominated for the final shortlist of the 2010 Ballon d'Or.
Despite not even been on the initial 23 man shortlist, Bendtner claimed he was "shocked" not to have come back into the reckoning following, as he puts it, his "Carling Cup heroics against Wigan Athletic".
He added, "Asamoah Gyan was nominated and I wasn't. He plays for Sunderland! Its like some kind of positive discrimination, like insisting a workforce includes disabled people. Its political correctness gone mad".
Since becoming romantically involved with a member of the Danish Royal family, Bendtner has insisted journalists refer to him as "Prince Nicklas".
He rebukes journalists on numerous occasions throughout the press conference for not referring to him as "your highness".
He cites his lack of nomination due to "the corrupt nature of the Fifa decision making process".
