The popular Irish Nun's Steeplechase which has taken place in Ireland for the past 200 years has finally been accepted as an Olympic Sport.
The Chairman of the Olympics Committee Lady Sebaceous Gland-Coe made the announcement from her London office today.
The sport involves Nun's wearing full Habit running to a set number of Steepled Churches on a prescribed route,downing a pint of Guinness at each church,scrambling to the top of each steeple and sliding down before continuing on to the end of the 3 mile course.
The sport will make it's debut in London 2012 with the first race beginning at St Martin in The Fields and ending at Westminster Abbey.
The world record time of 4 hours 20 minutes is currently held by Sister Perpetua of the Immaculate Heart from County Cork.
