The latest scandal to come out of the ongoing one day series between England and Pakistan has seen players from both sides become involved in a 'scuffle' at a nets session before the fourth match in the series.
It is alleged that during practice, where the players traditionally warm-up next to each other, South African England batsman Jonathan Trott commented that Pakistani bowler Wahab Riaz was creating 'nice shapes' with his bowling. Riaz, who incidentally attended the same school in Pakistan as Chairman Ijaz Butt, was overheard to have said 'So's your mum'.
Although only a schoolboy insult which made little sense, Trott reportedly took offense at Riaz, and threw his batting pads at the Pakistani. Riaz himself then squared up shouting 'You starting then?' before England batting coach Graham Gooch stepped in. As the two were seperated, Gooch was heard to tell Trott 'Leave it Jono, he's not worth it.'
The series, which has become increasingly bad-tempered, concludes tommorow at The Rose Bowl in Hampshire.
