Funny story written by Maditude

Even as the New York Mets are having a disappointing season, there are groups that are have become bigger fans of the team.

Molly Irvane, founder of the group Masochists of Madison in Madison, Wisconsin, said, "No sports team better exemplifies what we are all about more than the New More Mets. There is nothing easy about the Mets and we wouldn't have it any other way."

Hopelessly Emo founder Paul Fontrane said that the Mets play like they feel. "...And just as when it looks like the Mets are going to win, happiness is pulled like a rug underneath them. Following the Mets means I never have to worry about being happy again. Jerry Manuel is like a prophet to us!"

While most teams lose fans as they lose, the Mets are gaining in popularity among some groups.

The funny story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
