It's the question on many people's lips - who does Ashley Cole think he is?
Major bloopers in the left back's recent 'career' include cheating on former wife, Cheryl, texting photos of his meat and two veg and underpants to various women, laughing and joking following England's World Cup disaster as a nation mourned, stating that he hates England and its fans, and more recently, snubbing England boss Fabio Capello at Wembley following his team's abject loss to Manchester United in the Community Shield.
And that's just recently.
Arsenal fans have long despised the defender following a move to London neighbours Chelsea in controversial circumstances, and even diehard Chelsea fans are having a hard time standing in his corner following rumours of a reunion with ex-boss Jose Mourinho at Real Madrid.
Once touted as the best left sided defender in the country, if not the world, there appears to be little doubt that Ashley has let things go to his head. Friends describe him as an overinflated egomaniac with a superiority complex, while the vast majority just wish he'd fuck off to Real Madrid or something and stop being an embarrassment.
When confronted by irate critics, Cole's stock response appears to be:
"Do you know who I am?"
To which some critics frequently reply:
"Yes we do. But we sure wish we didn't."
More as we get it.
