Concord, NC - On Wednesday afternoon, in Concord, North Carolina, a seven years old boy named Joseph Greenhouse challenged a NASCAR driver, Jimmie Johnson, who currently is the four time champion in the Sprint Cup Series. Johnson and the other four drivers were testing at Lowe's Motor Speedway for the coming of the Coca Cola 600. A 600 miles event which is the longest stock car race in the world. Johnson accepted Greenhouse challenged saying " I hate to do this but I'm a racer, whatever race this is, I will win."
It will be a 20 laps dash to the finish which Greenhouse will borrow Dale Earnhardt Jr's car and told him before the race "Let me show you how to drive." Jr. haven't won a race since two years ago when he signed and joined Hendrick Motorsport that same year. When I asked Jr. for a comment, he just simply grinned and said "He just being cocky."
Jimmie Johnson, the driver of the Lowes Chevrolet had won six times here including three in the rows, Coca Cola 600, in May, from 2004-2007. Jr. drive for AMP energy drink Chevrolet which Greenhouse is using. Before the race start, Johnson and Greenhouse both shook hands and climbed into their race cars.
As the green flag waved, Greenhouse crushed Johnson by leading every single lap and won the race by 3.142 seconds. Drivers, crews and mostly fans were astonished of what just happen. Joseph Greenhouse, a seven years old beats a NASCAR driver who dominated the Sprint Cup Series for the past four years and won over 40 cups wins in those four years span. I asked Greenhouse what he doing tonight, he responded by saying "Going to celebrate with Dale (Jr.) and drink AMP drinks."
I even asked Johnson what was he respond was after the race but he blew me off. Since most sport fans called Appalachian State 34, No. 5 Michigan 32 the greatest upset in sport history, consider this stunning event to be number two. Exilar, from Concord, NC.
