The NFL, American Football's controlling board, have stated that American Football is to be renamed 'socca'. To fit in with what they called 'the 21st Century way of being', the NFL have decided to rename the sport simply because they wanted to.
"We don't see why we have to justify it," one NFL spokesperson, Gary, said. "American Football is almost 6 syllables, and in keeping with the accelerated growth of a trailer-trash public, we decided to reduce that number."
So what does American 'Joe' Public have to say: "I think it's okay. Socca? Sure, it's a good enough name. Hey - in ten years they can call it 'New Socca'."
