Earlier today, a raspy looking Sanchez-Vicario was found by a Spanish court to have evaded paying $ 5.1 Million dollars in taxes to Spain, dating back to her glory years in the late 80's and early 90's.
The one time number 2 player on the WTA tennis circuit told the court she was actually not living in Spain as her primary residence, but was in fact shuttling back and forth to the International Space Station where she was living. Thus, she claimed, no country has the legal right to tax her earnings.
The court then applied interest and penalties totaling 10.2 million dollars.
Sanchez, in a prepared statement after the proceeding said "I have no idea why they didn't believe me."
Easy Come, Easy Go, Arantxa.
